Driveway Ideas #3 - Bold Entrance

First impressions are lasting impressions. The driveway is the first thing anyone sees while approaching a home. Make the apron of the driveway a real eye catcher. Take the first 8-10 feet of the driveway, and engrave into either bricks, stones, or large slate patterns (possibly on a 45 degree pattern). Stain this section, preserve with a penetrating sealer, and you have significantly improved the approach to the home. Another idea is to put in a concrete overlay of any pattern and color. This adds only 1/4" to the thickness of the driveway, but what an improvement! The balance of the driveway can be stained and overlay stamped at strategic expansion joints.
