Concrete that has developed cracks, surface discolorations, or other surface imperfections may not have to be ripped out and replaced! Instead, it often can be resurfaced and greatly improved with the help of old-fashioned hard work and new-fangled polymer-modified overlay systems. With resurfacing techniques, we can transform concrete driveways, cement floors or patios from old, ugly, and gray, to new, beautifully smooth, and colored almost any hue.
Resurfacing can be as simple as making the concrete look new again, or as complex and inventive as upgrading the surface with beautiful colors and patterns. A typical resurfacing job involves:
- Power washing the concrete to prepare the surface.
- Repairing the cracks.
- Repairing the holes.
- Applying primecoat and broadcasting granules.
- Making an ultra-surface polymer and spraying the polymer concrete onto the surface with a hopper gun.
- Troweling over the texture coat to finish.
- Applying a color coat.
- Applying a sealer coat.
- Allowing the final surface to dry (48-72 hours).
